Mudanças de faixa etária no futebol juvenil de 2026-27 no Sol SC
Beginning in the 2026–27 season, youth soccer across the United States is transitioning from a calendar-year age cutoff (January 1–December 31) to a school-year cutoff (August 1–July 31). At Sol SC, a leading youth soccer club in Central Florida, we are implementing a structured, player-first transition plan to ensure every athlete continues developing in the right competitive environment.
The 2025–26 season remains unchanged. All updates apply beginning with 2026–27 team formation.
Find Your Player’s 2026–27 Soccer Age Group
Use our interactive youth soccer age group calculator to instantly determine your child’s 2026–27 age bracket under the new August 1–July 31 cutoff system.
Whether your player was born in early 2016 or late 2017, this tool provides immediate clarity on where they will fall for the upcoming competitive season.
Under the new school-year age grouping model, players will be organized by academic-year alignment rather than calendar year. This means some players will carry a younger or older age-group label than they currently do, but this does not mean repeating or skipping a year.
It is a structural alignment used nationwide in competitive youth soccer.

What Is Changing in Youth Soccer Age Groups for 2026–27?
Youth soccer in the United States is moving from a January–December birth year system to an August–July school-year age cutoff. This change impacts team formation, age labels (U9, U10, U11, etc.), and roster composition beginning in the 2026–27 season.
Calendar-Year Cutoff
Previous System
- Players grouped Jan 1 – Dec 31
- Teams built within one birth year
- Standard U9–U19 structure
Calendar-Year Cutoff
New System
- Players grouped Aug 1 – Jul 31
- Teams include players across two calendar years
- Aligns more closely with school grade progression

This model will be adopted across competitive youth soccer leagues nationwide, including Florida-based clubs and regional competitions.
