New Player Evaluations | Youth Soccer in Central Florida
New Player Evaluations
A simple, stress-free way to make sure your child is placed in the right environment to grow and enjoy soccer.
What Are New Player Evaluations?
At Sol Sports Club, we make it easy for new players to join the right team, any time of year. Our New Player Evaluation process gives families a clear path into the club. Players are invited to a training session where our licensed coaches get to know their skills, playing style, and potential. Afterward, we recommend the best-fit team or program, help families complete registration, and make sure every player starts strong.
Whether your child is moving up from recreational soccer or joining from another club, this is the perfect entry point to the Sol SC family.
Who Should Attend?
New to Sol SC or unsure where your child fits? We’ll guide you.
- New players joining Sol SC for the first time
- Families unsure which program level (Recreational, Futures, or Competitive) best fits their child
- Players transitioning from Mighty Mights or Futures into Competitive soccer
Our staff uses the evaluation to guide your child’s placement, not to eliminate or exclude anyone. Every player has a home at Sol SC.

New Player Evaluation (NPE) Process
Our New Player Evaluation (NPE) process is designed to be simple, low-pressure, and focused on placing each player in the right environment, not running mass tryouts.
Fill Out Online Form
Families begin by completing the New Player Evaluation form on the website. This gives us basic information about the player’s age, experience, and current situation so we can plan the right next step.

Schedule an Evaluation
Once the form is submitted, a member of our staff reaches out directly to the family to schedule an on-field evaluation. Evaluations are scheduled year-round and at one of our local training locations.

On-Field Evaluation
Our on-field evaluation is a fun, low-pressure session designed to help coaches assess each player’s current skills, effort, and readiness, so we can place them in the environment where they’ll grow best.

Placement Invitation
The family then receives an invitation to the best-fit team or program, based on the evaluation. Placement is guided by what will best support the player’s long-term development, not simply age or short-term performance.

Coach Evaluation & Discussion
Following the session (or sessions, if needed), our coaching staff reviews the player’s readiness, development needs, and overall fit within the Sol SC pathway.

Testimonials
What Players & Parents Say About Sol SC
Absolutely amazing experience, people are super sweet, the team feels like family. Since the day that I came I was accepted and they were never rude and always kind. Florida rush has amazing facilities and amazing coaches.
Blanca Vilches
Best quality youth soccer programs in Clermont and Orlando both the girls and boys sides. Probably one of the only clubs in the area that has opportunity for all levels and all youth ages from beginners to top in the country. We have had both a son and daughter play Rush and they have developed to a very high level during their years at Rush.
Russ Wasendorf Jr
One of the best clubs around. My kids have been there 2 of the past 4 years and have had their happiest moments with Rush. In the Orlando area, Rush is by far the best club for your children. Coaching, training fields and sessions are as good or better than everyone else.
Mike Q
My daughter’s experience at Rush Soccer has been wonderful. The club is organized, fields are excellent, and her coach the past 2 yrs is amazing. There are soccer clubs closer to home, but we continue to choose Rush for a host of reasons including player development & the positive environment.
Jeff Guarino
Rush Soccer has an excellent coaches, staff, and overall a great organization for the kids. My daughter attended for a few years and she enjoyed everything about it. I would highly recommended to anyone looking for a fun and safe after school sport, Rush Soccer is a good place to begin.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the purpose of a player evaluation?
The evaluation helps Sol SC coaches recommend the best-fit program for each child based on skill, age, and readiness — ensuring a positive and productive soccer experience.
How long does the evaluation last?
Most sessions last 70–90 minutes, depending on age group size.
Is there a fee to attend?
No! Evaluations are completely free and open to all interested players.
What if my child has never played soccer before?
No problem, our evaluations are open to all experience levels. Coaches focus on attitude, effort, and coordination, not just skill.
Can my child join a program after the season starts?
Yes! Families can register and join at any point during the season. Our coaches help new players catch up and feel part of the team right away.
What should my child wear?
Athletic or soccer attire (shorts, t-shirt, cleats, shin guards). Please bring a water bottle and come ready to have fun.
How will I know which program my child is placed in?
You’ll receive a follow-up email or call from our staff within a few days after the evaluation with your placement recommendation and next steps for registration.
What if my child misses the scheduled evaluation date?
You can contact us anytime to arrange an individual evaluation session with a coach. Email [email protected] or visit our Contact Page for assistance.
When and Where Are Evaluations Held?
Evaluations are held at our main training complexes and are open year-round, with a few brief breaks during the high school season and holiday periods.
How do evaluations work for younger or older kids?
On-Field Evaluation
The evaluation experience depends on the player’s age and stage of development:
Younger players may be invited to participate in a Sol Futures session, where coaches can assess foundational skills in an age-appropriate environment.
Older or more experienced players are invited to join an existing age-group team training session, allowing the Head Coach to evaluate the player within a real training environment alongside current players.
This approach helps us see how a player trains, learns, and competes, rather than judging them in a one-time tryout setting.
